Tray icon is missing #566

ScudCloud Version

$ scudcloud --version
ScudCloud 1.56
Python 3.4.3
Qt 5.2.1
PyQt 5.2.1
SIP 4.15.5

Distro and Desktop info

  • Distribution: Xubuntu
  • Version/Release: 14.04
  • Desktop environment: XFCE

Expected behavior

When scudcloud is started, I expect there to be a tray icon.

Actual behavior

Scudcloud is running but there is not a tray icon.

Hi @rsyring and thanks for raising this issue.

In Ubuntu 14.04, Qt requires a special code to handle the notification area, while in 16.04 it works out of the box.
