org.scalastyle.scalastyleplugin.core/src/org/scalastyle/scalastyleplugin/builder/ScalastyleBuilder.scala uses getFileForLocation() to obtain File objects for the getCharset() method. This returns null for files that live outside the workspace (i.e. linked resources).
