Could you explain how you intended to implement handleVarDeclExpr and what the problems were?

Absolutely. I've struggled to find a way to reliably guess the strings type. I haven't given up, but since the incoming blog post is about syscalls, I didn't make to make noise with the VarDeclExpr. I think you can reactivate it, it should work 90% of the times :p
