Vjoy pdoes not allow trim in DCS #48
Comments
I had assigned a couple of controls inside DCS in the Vjoy row so everything failed ... it finally works! Thnkas for the help! |
hi pabletesoy how did you solve the issue ? i have wird issue with dcs 2.5 version vjoy axis are not "centered" and trim work strange with vjoy axis. But they is no issue if i affect directly the "real" stick axis in DCS inputs conf. look like my vjoy axis are not sendind the correct center position to the soft if no action on stick is done... i try to "calibrate" the vjoy device in windows but dont work axis a perfectly centered in the overview of calibration I see on dcs using ctrl righ + enter key the stick position display and i see that the stick in not centered if using vjoy no idea why look that the DCS 2.7 have no issue with vjoy |
I map the axes in DCS and the rest in Vjoy, I have not found another
solution. I have managed to map the DCS axes within Vjoy but the trim,
mysteriously, does not work.

when you say " I map the axes in DCS and the rest in Vjoy" you mean that you use the "real X and Y" axis of the real joystick in dcs directly instead of using "simulated axis of Vjoy" and use others boutton and axis of from vjoy for others stuff right correct ? strange is that FC3 have issue but F18 module not ! So I did like you for now but it's not so perfect if like me you have 2 joysticks FFB and normal and you switch from one of the other regulary... for theses axis |
I don't understand the last part of your email, my English is very bad.
As you say, I don't use VJOY to map axes, I map them inside DC,S directly
from the Joestick and Throttle.
I think DCS does not like to have the axes controlled from "third partys",
I had problems with the 3 planes that I have tried to map.
On the other hand, IL2 does support axis mapping through VJOY .....

Workaround for this issue is to disable force feedback joysticks in DCS. Even when you disable force feedback effects vjoy registers as a ffb stick. DCS assumes it will self center but our sticks do not. anyway feature request for vjoy: disable registering as ffb device. And for now: disable FFB in dcs when flying fc3 aircraft. |
Holy crap this issue was driving me nuts. I literally reinstalled windows and everything. But your suggestion fixed it. Thanks for saving my sanity. |
Hello,
I know it seemed strange, but when I have Vjoy active, I cannot trim in DCS. Inside the controls tab if I press the corresponding keys it indicates the trimming action, but when flying, there is no reaction, in any plane ... does this happen to anyone too?
Thanks a lot
