Bug description

When you have no internet connection and try to share some content, Signal will freeze for a while.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. disconnect your internet connection
  2. open some different app where you can share contents, e.g. your photo app
  3. select a photo and press "share"
  4. select Signal
  5. selcet a contact in the ist and press ">" button
  6. Signal will freeze for almost a minute until you can enter a message and press the send-button again

This happens if you do this for the 1st time in a while. If you repeat this steps immediately, Signal might not freeze.

This problem also exista for a while now, so you might find it in older versions of Signal.
I do not have this problem with other apps on that phone, so it must be related to Signal.

Huh, I can't seem to repro. Is it possible that the content you're sharing isn't locally on your device? I could imagine a situation where the content is in the cloud, and then when you go to share it the URI we get requires internet to retrieve... otherwise I'm not sure. I can't personally reproduce the issue. Would be helpful if we were able to get a log.

No, this usually are local pictures I'm sharing.
I'll try to get a log.
Maybe you could try a fresh restart before. Once it works, the problem doesn't seem to appear. But it happens regularly for me.

Yeah, I tried force-stopping the app and restarting my phone, no luck :/ Let me know if you can get a log!
