run into the same problem on a fresh Kali installation.

unable to create a case
problem is not in the logfiles

Any idea how to fix this issue?

Same issue on PureOS 10 (Debian 11).

There should be a directory ~/.autopsy/dev/var/log/messages.log.0 what is in the beginning of that file and are there any errors in the file?
