wsl install issues

Hello,

I'm unable to get wsl to install by using "wsl --install". It will give me the help menu of wsl with the various arguments to use (see below). When i tried "wsl --install --d Ubuntu". it did install Ubuntu but don't think it did wsl itself.

I am running VSCode in admin mode and tried the same through powershell app. Maybe I need a restart? (just installed node.js but no restart prompt was shown).

    --cd <Directory>
        Sets the specified directory as the current working directory.
        If ~ is used the Linux user's home path will be used. If the path begins
        with a / character, it will be interpreted as an absolute Linux path.
        Otherwise, the value must be an absolute Windows path.

    --distribution, -d <Distro>
        Run the specified distribution.

    --user, -u <UserName>
        Run as the specified user.

    --system
        Launches a shell for the system distribution.

For me seems you already have WSL installed, just for verification please go to windows store and install windows terminal, open it and see if you have this tab:

if yes you already have ubuntu (WSL) properly working.

Anyway which version of windows you have? if is w10 please share de compilation number as there could be differences at installing WSL on not updated compilations.
