registerMediaConversions runs everytime a Media models loads

I have the following registerMediaConversions:

The code works perfectly when uploading.
However, as soon as I call up the start page with several images, the website becomes extremely slow. This is because the code is called several times each time.

Unfortunately, I have not found anything on how to create a CustomMediaConversion.

Do you have any ideas on how I can solve this problem?
