IMO: The Linux bin landscape is a bit fragmented.
Why would a snap don't fit your needs?

@deknos I had a look into it and it shouldn't be too hard since it's a single binary anyways.

Hi,
i am not such a fan of snap, since for example it its hard to provision on air gapped systems or you cannot setup your own store. I would be delighted to contribute! i'll look into it!
