Is there a way to easily deploy the operator as namespace scoped? Any foreseeable issues with doing so?

That's a good call. We've had that planned for some time already, and I believe it should be available very soon.

Currently working on identifying ways to pass namespaces (allow or deny) to the operator.

Attempting to use these as inspiration.
