"As an ActivityPub user, I want to compare two places to see if they're the same, so that I can know if two photos were taken in the same place."

This kind of unpacks a lot of questions. Obviously comparing two Place objects with the same id property should show that they are equal. But maybe there are other ways to define the same place. One is having the exact same latitude and longitude (and altitude...?) values. Another is using alsoKnownAs.

It would be nice to have a vocabulary of places. OpenStreetMap is a well-known Open Source one, but it doesn't have Place objects available. (Maybe someday, though...? Maybe we should ask.) There are others like Foursquare or Google Places.

I have been sitting on the domain places.pub for a while, wanting to set up a geographical vocabulary. Maybe now is the time!
