It would be nice to provide the clickable path to the file that triggered error.

Error example when xsi:type="string" is used instead of xsi:type="array":

Magento\Framework\Config\Dom\ValidationException: Element 'item': This element is not expected. Expected is ( updater ). Line: 2368 The xml was: 
2367: <item name="modal" xsi:type="string"> 
2368: <item name="path" xsi:type="string">...</item> 
2369: </item>
