Possible Upcoming KIDDE API Change.

I have had two false alarms occur on two different devices. They are the Smoke + Carbon Monoxide Alarm with Indoor Air Quality Monitor devices. I experienced the smoke_level go from 0 to 100 while no smoke was present. When these false alarms occurred, no cooking, showering, etc., was happening at the time. While talking to tech support, they sent the following message as part of their help.

The smoke level is a part of the app that has never worked as designed. Engineers are working to delete it from the app.

Thanks to @carterbox and the HA fix to the smoke level graph, I had the history.

I must add that the KIDDE support was very pleasant and helpful.

One question ... does anyone else see the smoke_level bounce around at 0, to 3 or 4, to 7 or 8, back to 0?

Yes. The smoke level is noisy for me as well, but I've never seen it jump to 100.

I was always suspicious of that sensor entity because it's unitless. My automations all use the CO/Smoke alarm states instead of this value.

Since their support was so kind... Did they happen to share any official API documentation? 😁

We should probably move "Smoke Level" and "CO Level" to a "Diagnostic" section of the device? That's a pattern I've seen before for other devices. Examples below.
