How to best participate with googleplus account?

I know, I should not be using Google+, but OTOH it might be nice to populate g+ pages with the message too.

For now I am just using https://github.com/tfrce/thedaywefightback.js/blob/gh-pages/screenshots/tdwfb-banner.jpg?raw=true as my cover photo, but it does not display that well due to the aspect ratio.

Are there better, perhaps even dynamic ways, to join the effort via one's G+ account?

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but as far as I know all we can do is pre-populate a post for you to share. Like Facebook, we can't set profile pics/cover photos automatically :(
