[MacOS] Could not open file when cloning from source. #70
Comments
Wait fellow user. Why are you using the XCODE version and not the prepackaged .DMG version? (just curious). I've recorded my observations using the .DMG file (in another thread) |
@badiyee85 Hi, I'm using the Xcode version. |
Hi @badiyee85 and @ErrorCatDev , |
Hi @ErrorCatDev sorry about that. I'm very unfamiliar with XCODE (i'm a new mac user myself but while I won't presume, I think I can understand while you want to compile). That said, the dmg version while isn't perfect, I managed to get it work. Hope that may be useful to you as a mitigation while the XCODE version gets the fixes it needs. |
Hi @ErrorCatDev! Hope you’ve been well. Arya has significantly enhanced the macOS build instructions on the README. Could you please try following it now again? |
Hi, when cloning from source for the WritingTools app, I was following the install guide which told me to open Xcode and choose the MacOS folder to open the project. However, Xcode fails and returns this error:
[MacOS] Could not open file. (/Users/ErrorCatDev/WritingToolsMacos/WritingTools/macOS)
.Is there anything that I'm doing wrong? Thanks!
(Btw great MacOS app, has really been useful for me when I'm using my MacBook.)
