While it would be good for us to have the shop tools to make custom 3D printers or CNC machines, it isn't going to be easy to figure out a way to do things like cutting aluminum extrusions without creating some sort of fire hazard or fumes risk in the lab. It's something I would like to keep in mind though as we build out the more hardware oriented parts of the lab.

Parts to build a fully custom 3d printer
Purpose
Get experience with the mechanical technology (servos, electronic boards) that I wont get from classes.
