New Features

  • Added 2 new sliders to the asteroid ring admin menu, to allow rotation of the ring around all 3 axis of the planet

  • Added a new button to the asteroid ring admin menu. It allows the deletion of asteroid rings to either modify or change them, or to completely delete unwanted ones. All asteroids that were generated in the ring and were mined on, before it will be deleted, will stay however.

  • Added the ability to click on sliders while holding control to enter the wanted value directly instead of using the slider itself. This will only work on sliders of the plugin and wont affect vanilla sliders in admin menus or other places.

Changes

Bug fixes

  • Fixed a bug, which caused the value of sliders in the asteroid ring menu to be displayed twice, once the default value and on top the actual value.

Known Issues

  • The plugin still eats up ram, when inside asteroid fields. However, i did find out, it is an issue with space engineers, that does not clean up closed voxel maps.

Changes

  • Updated the plugin to game version 1.193.0. This update introduced some changes to the game, which affected the plugin.

v1.6 - Admin Menu

New Features

Added an admin menu to the Alt+F10 menu

This menu lists all Planets in the system, aswell as user spawned ones. It allows you
to spawn ring around planets that have none, and to customize the width, distance to planet, the size of the asteroids in the ring, aswell the Asteroid sizes in the ring.
When a planet has a ring it allows you to teleport your character into the ring, since
they are hard to find.

Added a blacklist to the generator

This blacklist contains all planets, that should not be generated by the plugin. It is located in the global configuration file, for more info see the wiki page here.
This list is used in every world, where a system is generated. No planet on this list will be spawned in the system. The names, you have to enter are the subtype ids defined in the planets .sbc file.

Added an option to choose an asteroid generator

There is a new world option to be found in the world settings of the plugin, aswell as in the world settings file. This option allows you to set an asteroid generator for the world. You can choose to use the plugin one, which only generates rings and belts, or the vanilla one, which generates asteroids the way you already know it from the game. There is also the option to use both methods at ones.

Changes

  • Changed the way, the plugin is first loaded on dedicated servers. It is now enabled by default, when installed on servers. That means you don't have to do that yourself, after starting the server once with the plugin. The first time you load it, it is used.

  • Planets now have different storage names, to support the admin menu. It is therefore advised to only use this version on new worlds, but it would work with old ones.

Bug fixes

  • This version finally fixes a bug, that caused players to get kicked from servers, or even crash their client. This was caused by the asteroid generator the plugin used. It used an own implemented one, since Spaceengineers doesn't give directly access to its own. I now, with some workaround, use the one space engineers uses. That also fixes the ore spawn problem, that existed before.

Known Issues

  • The plugin still eats up ram, when inside asteroid fields. The cause is still not clear, either it is a memory leak, or something caused by SpaceEngineers itself due to the high density. However, this fix has priority now, if it can be fixed.
