Destroy and reinitialize calender

Hello ,
i am using ec.destroy to destroy the current calender and then i am reinitializing the calender
but destory is not working

here is a code snippet

              if (ec) {
              ec.destroy();
              ec = null;
             }
            let ec = new EventCalendar(document.getElementById('ec'), {

            view: 'resourceTimelineDay',
            pointer: true,
            slotMinTime: st,
            slotMaxTime: en,
