All moderator activity should be publicly viewable to ensure accountability and impartial moderation.

The following information should appear in the moderation log:

  • When posts are deleted by an admin / moderator
  • When threads are moved
  • When posts are edited by an admin / moderator (this currently does not seem to be a feature? or it's disabled?)

Under normal circumstances, the content of deleted threads and posts should also be visible in the moderation log. Obviously in certain situations the moderation log should have the ability to redact certain information (if someone is posting dox / copyrighted material / etc), but the redaction would need to be obvious and have a description explaining why it was redacted.

To ensure accountability when information is redacted, other admins / moderators should be able to see the original post and compare it to the redacted version.

Additionally, moderators should have their powers removed if it is determined that information was redacted that should not have been (redacting information in a personal dispute for example).
