How to add a tool programatically?

Hi Wiesław,

thank you for providing this docking library! I played with it, and so far I figured out how to add new documents to the document dock. But what I cannot figure out: how can I add tools to any tool dock programatically? I tried that by using the following code:

var right = _factory.RightToolDock; /// the right tool dock was precreated
var tool = new CustomTool(padDescriptor); // create my own tool
_factory.AddDockable(right, tool); // add the tool to the right tool dock
_factory.SetActiveDockable(tool); // activate
_factory.SetFocusedDockable(right, tool); // and focus it

But I always end up with an empty right dock; the tool is not showing up. Is the code above the intended way of doing it? Maybe you can add some piece of code to your sample (a menu item that creates a tool programatically)?

That looks good to me. Do you have the ViewLocator working?

Hi, unfortunately I cannot use the ViewLocator, because my project is based on the former SharpDevelop project. Thus, I tried to set the content in the constructor of the CustomTool class:

    _content.PropertyChanged += EhContentPropertyChanged;

    this.Content = new Func<object, TemplateResult<Control>>((x) => new TemplateResult<Control>((Control)_content.ViewObject, null));
  }
  private void EhContentPropertyChanged(object? sender, PropertyChangedEventArgs e)
  {
    switch (e.PropertyName)
    {
      case "Title":
        this.Title = _content.Title;
        break;
      case "ViewObject":
        this.Content = _content.ViewObject;
        break;
    }
  }
}

I tested it, and made sure that in your TemplateHelper.Build method the control is loaded. It seems that this will not do the job?
