If "file.md5" is NULL in the subtrack database then npg_update_ebi_metadata.pl bails with error;
Attribute (submission_md5) does not pass the type constraint because: Validation failed for 'Str' with value undef at constructor WTSI::NPG::DataSub::File::new

Not sure if the NULLs in subtrack are a bug or a feature....
