Illumina metadata updater doesn't update metadata under some circumstances

As seen in Ticket 722240, the mentioned samples had typos or non-breaking space characters, which were fixed in ml warehouse but not propagated to iRODS when the updater script ran. The changes appeared to have been picked up, but no change was made to the metadata.
