Autosave works by saving game at turn start, but this is a problem because all progress in that turn is permanently lost.
Often times a player wants to reload game, e.g. previous turn, however all progress in that autosave is permanently lost and all work needs to be repeated.
In late game or during war this can amount to many units needing to be moved again, needing to re-attack targets which is tedious and often it's hard to reproduce exact moves that were played.

Desired Solution
Suggested a checkbox option to autosave game at turn end.
The checkbox may be suitable to be placed under Options -> Gameplay and called Autosave at turn end or Autosave at the end of turn
Alternative Approaches
If adding the checkbox is not desireable the alternative is to save game at turn end by default.
Nobody's game experience is to be harmed this way for reasons in "Additional Context" below.
Additional Context
Assuming this suggestion is implemented but a player does not want to load autosaved game at turn end but from turn start (current behavior) then they can load autosave file 2 turns back and press "end turn" to move to previous turn and have the same effect as loading at turn start for previous turn.
This way any game progress is never lost and it makes possible to load either at game end or game start.
However since this is a two step process to get to desired state of game a checkbox will be more useful.
