Dynamically Transparent Ghost Metaphor-Based Instructors in Guidance in Collaborative Virtual Reality Environments

This gitlab repository contains the code and models used for Cassandra Visser's Bsc thesis as part of the Research Project (Q4 2024) of the TU Delft.

How to Use

  1. Clone the project
  2. Install Unity Editor v2022.3.26f1
  3. Open the cloned project in the Unity Editor

Objective

The objective of this research is to find out what the effect of dynamically transparent ghost instructors is on learning and retaining skills in virtual reality environments. Dynamically transparent ghost instructors, in the context of this study, are essentially first-person perspective ghost metaphor-based instructors whose transparency changes depending on how well the student is learning the taught skill.

Licensing

This section details the licenses that cover parts of the code base and models. The code and the non-human models are covered by the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International license.

Human and Ghost Avatars

The human and ghost avatars were made using the MakeHuman plugin (version mpfb2-20240602) for Blender. The output of this plugin is regarded as the result of the assets used and the creator's input and is thus covered by the licenses that cover the used assets.

The assets used for the two avatars that have been created for this project are all available under a CC0 1.0 Universal license and are:
