- March call notes are on GitHub; review priorities
- Review Workgroup GitHub project
- New GitHub discussion on modeling operational information (Byeong)
- CMAS tutorial on CMAQ in the cloud. Optionally review these materials for discussion during the call
Check priorities in March call notes
- EPA Slides Link
- Why the cloud for EPA? ** Goal is to share data and modeling in the cloud ** Sharing data has continually been a great need in our community
- Looking at multiple options for sharing data via the cloud, CMAS will be a key partner
- See the cloud as an option for modeling ** Vision is that community members would have their own accounts on a cloud provider and then access EPA resources (images or data) through the cloud accounts ** Can limit the need for specialized hardware for modeling, and reduce some barriers for accessing computing and modeling
- Question about moving data around on the cloud and the need to better understand egress fees, and costs of moving data across cloud regions; e.g., how much does it cost to download 1 Gb of data from the cloud to a local machine, move 1 Gb between regions, and move that same file within the same region
- Question about what cloud capabilities are for modeling
- Tutorial Link
- Liz Adams walks the group through the tutorial
- Project Git Hub organization ** Wiki - content management system (CMS) for information, notes, and other text-based content ** Issues - support threads for using the cloud for air quality modeling ** Discussion - discussion forum for Q&A, and targeted discussion in the community ** Code - source code and scripts for modeling and analysis in the cloud
- New thread asking for operational information about modeling in the cloud
