I bet this is probably a lot harder than it sounds, but the option to specify an array of items that will resolve to an alloying recipe would be fairly cool. Something like:

(in this example items not in quotes denote numbers)

"alloy":{
    "materials":[["material1",ingots],["material2",ingots],...],
    "yield":ingots
}

This would be within the json file for the result material.

As I said, I'm sure it's much, much tougher code-wise than it seems, but it sounds like a good mechanic to try to implement. I'm also sure this isn't the first time it's been suggested so I apologize if you've already expressed an intent to never implement this feature in the past.
