Opening this issue on behalf of Jessie Sims from the US National Archives, who had the great idea to offer users an option to populate the OriginatorReference field from the filename, minus the ".wav."
Since the name of the digital asset is very often the primary identifier from an associated data repository, having this option on hand may be a quick and easy way to ensure this field gets filled with the correct value.

FWIW, our playout system, DAVID embeds the 80-character title field in the BEXT Description field. This may be due to the character limitations in each of the fields: 32 characters for OriginatorReference, 256 for Description. Outside of the playout system, we embed the base filename in the Description field, mimicking DAVID's behaviour.
I just wonder if 32 characters is enough space to embed many filenames, especially descriptive ones like ours.
