EVPLAN
The EVPLAN project is an innovative initiative aimed at developing sustainable and optimized electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure in Morocco. Led by Green Energy Park and supported by Zunder, with funding from IRESEN (Inno Espa-Maroc), EVPLAN uses Geographic Information System (GIS) technology and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to plan and map EV charging stations. The project emphasizes the integration of solar energy to power these stations, making it an environmentally friendly solution for EV infrastructure. The primary goal is to create a functional prototype that can serve as a model for other cities in Morocco and across Africa, contributing to sustainable mobility and a reduction in CO2 emissions. My role in the project was focused on optimizing the performance of this platform using Apache Sedona, a spatial data processing engine for big data. This involved enhancing the system's ability to handle large-scale geographic data, improving the accuracy and efficiency of the platform’s spatial queries and analyses related to the placement and operation of EV charging stations. Through this, your work contributed to making the EVPLAN platform more responsive and capable of handling the complex demands of infrastructure planning. -
SafeGuard
DThe "Safeguard" project is a machine learning (ML) solution designed to enhance safety in football stadiums by detecting and responding to violent acts in real-time. The system utilizes stadium cameras equipped with advanced ML algorithms to monitor the crowd. When a violent act is detected, the system sends immediate alerts to the concerned security personnel, allowing for quick intervention.
In addition to automated detection, fans in the stadium are given a QR code they can scan on their smartphones. If they witness violence or any urgent situation, they can use this system to report it discreetly and in real-time. This enables fast and precise communication with stadium authorities, ensuring the issue is addressed promptly.
