The CDP4-COMET is the Starion Group Concurrent Design Solution that allows a team of engineers to perform Concurrent Design. Concurrent Design is a methodology that is applied to the design of complex multidisciplinary systems. Concurrent Design is a design approach in which all design disciplines and stakeholders are brought together to create an integrated design in a collaborative way of working. CDP4-COMET is used to collaboratively work on the design of a sytem. The design information is shared by means of a central repository that is the single-source-of-truth. The CDP4-COMET Web Services function as the single-source-of-truth where all the relevant design information is stored and shared between the stakeholders.
The releases of the CDP4-COMET Web Services can be found here
The CDP4-COMET Web services CE is an implementation of ECSS-E-TM-10-25A Annex A and Annex C. ECSS-E-TM-10-25A is a Technical Memorandum under the E-10 System engineering branch in the ECSS series of standards, handbooks and technical memoranda. ECSS-E-TM-10-25 facilitates and promotes common data definitions and exchange among organisations, which are interested to collaborate on concurrent design, sharing analysis and design outputs and related reviews. This comprises a system decomposition up to equipment level and related standard lists of parameters and disciplines. Further it provides the starting point of the space system life cycle defining the parameter sets required to cover all project phases, although the present Technical Memorandum only addresses Phases 0, A and B1.
More information about ECSS-E-TM-10-25A and how it is implemented in the CDP4-COMET can be found here
NOTE: CDP4-COMET supports the ECSS-E-TM-10-25A JSON REST API, documented here, as well as a highly performant MessagePack based protocol which is logically the same but serialed to performant binary format.
The CDP4-COMET Web services CE is developed using the CDP4-COMET-SDK Community Edition. The SDK contains multiple libraries that are each packaged as a nuget and avaialble from nuget.org. The SDK is distributed with LGPL license.
The CDP4-COMET WebServices can be deployed bare metal on Linux, Windows and MacOS or using Docker containers. Our preferred deployment mode is based on Docker Containers and Docker Compose. Please find the Docker images on Docker Hub
Starion also provides the CDP4 Web Services Enterprise Edition which comes with commercial support and more features.
