Assembly sounder

Sounder assembly instructions

  1. Separate the sections of the panel and clean up the connection points, you will need one of the rear plates from the iambic key panel depending on your choice of power connector
  2. check and trim any mechanical connections
    1. Clean up radi on switch hole
    2. enlarge holes for potentiometers as these are slightly too small
  3. Solder SMT components on top surface of main PCB.
  4. Solder on remaining though-hole components and capacitors on rear of PCB
  5. for stereo headphone use short the jumper on the back of the board, leave open for mono use.
  6. Attach the speaker standofs to the main pcb using screws from the rear pannel.
  7. Solder wires between the speaker and to the mainboard, giving enough length for the speaker to sit on the standoffs
  8. Attach the speaker to the top of the standofs.
  9. Program the AVR firmware onto the sounder and test the unit.
  10. place front and back panels on the ends of the board and slot the assembly into the bottom of the housing.
  11. screw the mainboard to the bottom of the case.
  12. place the top of the case over the unit and screw together.
