This is a simple Android app that automates the Game Master role in the game A Fake Artist Goes To New York. Now everyone can participate in the drawing!
To use, simply enter the email addresses of all players and press Send Prompt. The app will automatically generate a random word and email it to all but one player. The remaining player will receive an email informing them they are the fake artist.
The words are generated from a variety of categories with predefined weights that control their distribution. You can adjust these weights by clicking the tool icon in the top right of the main screen of the app. Note that the weights are relative to each other, so:
Category 1 = 1.0
Category 2 = 0.5
is the same as:
Category 1 = 2.0
Category 2 = 1.0
In both cases Category 1
will be used roughly twice as often as Category 2
.
The app uses SendGrid to send emails, so you will have to place a valid API Key in the local.properties
file of the project:
...
sendGridApiKey=YOUR_API_KEY_HERE
By default, the app sends emails from [email protected]
.
You can optionally customize the sender email in local.properties
to, for example, use a verified domain to bypass spam filters.
(local.properties
is not checked in, you will have to create it manually in the root directory of the project if your IDE does not create it for you)
The app uses danysantiago's Android SDK for SendGrid
Random word generation uses wordgenerator.net
