Getting Started

Insert MarginNote Data

With MarginNote Companion, you can import three types of data from MarginNote: selection in document, existing notes, and note hierarchy tree (with TOC mode enabled in obsidian-bridge)

  • Guide to customize imported Markdown format.
  • Guide to import video note.

You can use the following ways to insert MarginNote data:

  • select-paste: select item in MarginNote and paste in obsidian
  • Insert to active note Command
  • Hotkey (Setup): Use specified hotkey with a keyboard
  • Gesture (Mobile only, Setup): Swipe from top to buttom
  • Toolbar item (Mobile only, Setup): Tap on button in the toolbar located at top of the virtual keyboard

Note: On mobile, obsidian will be opened on every selection, so open split view before using the plugin on iPadOS.

Import TOC

To import the entire note hierarchy tree, enable TOC mode in MarginNote and select the note you would like to import. After seeing the success prompt, you can then import them to obsidian note.

How to import toc

Check here for guide to customize the imported Markdown format.

AutoPaste

With AutoPaste enabled in obsidian and obsidian-bridge enabled in MarginNote, every selected item in MarginNote will be inserted to the active note in obsidian automatically.
