Steps To Reproduce

  1. Wait for some time, after you opened/unlocked the extension the last time.
  2. Go to the Bitwarden icon in the browser.
  3. Click on the extension icon.

Expected Result

The extension window opens in it's full beauty.

Actual Result

The extension window opens, but it's cut in "half".

Additional Context

This is new for me with the last update to extension version 2025.1.0. - It happens now (almost) every time, I open the extension window "for the first time". As you can see in the video, if I close that window and open it again, it then shows the normal extension window.

PS: Okay, the last hours, it happened seldom... so if you try to reproduce it: it happens not every time!

Hello @pamperer562580892423,

Thank you for reporting this. I tested this in Vivaldi 7.0.3495.29 with Bitwarden 2025.1.0; I set the extension's width to extra wide, quit the browser, launched Vivaldi anew, and clicked on the extension's icon, and in 10 attempts the extension's pop-up (window) rendered as expected. With that in mind, I'd recommend that you perform a fresh new installation by uninstalling the Bitwarden browser extension from Vivaldi, removing any leftover data, rebooting the computer, and installing the extension anew.

If this behaviour persists, please feel free to create a Support ticket so we'd have a look at this together, and please also include a link to this GitHub report in the body of your ticket.

Alternatively, you can seek assistance from other Bitwarden users in our Community Forums, if you wish.

We use GitHub to track potential bugs and other development related matters; This GitHub report will be closed at this point.

Thank you again,

@SergeantConfused Thank you for the testing - but you guys are funny sometimes... If I do it 10 times in a row, it also works. There has to be some kind of delay between the tries, so that then the first opening is with a "half" window.

And even with a delay of 5, 10, 15 minutes... it still doesn't happen every time.

@SergeantConfused Just as an info for you: I did now everything you recommended - removed the extension, deleted the local storage, rebooted Windows, reinstalled the extension... and I can report now, that I now ALWAYS have the extension window "cut in half" on Vivaldi.

I just contacted support and can only suggest to you, to investigate this further and reopen this issue.

@SergeantConfused There seem to be now two other independent reports to the same issue here (and I still have that issue, despite all deinstall/local-storage-deletion/reinstall): #13173 and #13174 , both opened today.

So, again, please investigate this further, as this is an issue that exists, obviously.

PS: Here a current screenshot of my extension on Vivaldi (you can see the similarity with the other two mentioned issues):
