In the last update, I had settled on a new design direction, but due to some technical issues with certain display devices, I need to roll it back for now. The design changes will be reversed, but not drastically - it's going to take us back toward the feel of version 1.06.

The UI has been refined and polished, down to the last button (inspired by WinUI styles), and optimized for seamless display across tablets, Surfaces, and notebooks

  • Fresh, functional, and modular UI with an enhanced Dark Mode and inspired WinUI styles
  • New navigation manager with history support for the back button
  • Revamped main page with direct switches to various app options
  • Improved plugin engine for better performance
  • Added new plugins, including a "Block New Outlook Preinstall" feature for Windows 11 (see Neowin source) and support for Winget app installations
  • Enhanced filtering on the Dumputer (debloater) and Experience pages
  • Smoother experience on high DPI devices
  • New FAQ section on the main page, visible on specific devices
  • Seamless page transitions with live updates
  • Numerous core fixes and performance improvements

  • The App Debloater module now supports Bloatware Filters, which are regularly expanded and updated by AI. The signatures for these filters are stored in an "AppMatrix.json" file, which can be accessed and kept up-to-date via the Plugin Store. This plugin is only supported in version 1.0.6 of Bloatynosy and onwards. Prior to this, the bloatware signatures were static and hard-coded in the app. Be sure to check out the video showcasing this feature
  • The Home/Back button now also displays the number of pages we've flipped through in the app. The first page transition starts at 1, 2, 3, etc., so you always know how many layers you’ve moved away from the main page and how many clicks it’ll take to return to the main menu. Yeah, I know it’s a bit of a gamey feature, but somehow, I kinda need it 😆
  • The Notification area has been detached from the app. It now floats over the main screen and disappears as soon as you click anywhere else

Here’s a new UI concept based on the latest dark theme version, which was just introduced yesterday as "Noir." The UI is sleek, simple, modular, and, of course, dark. Feel free to test it over the next few days and share your feedback

🚀 Bloatynosy New Year’s Build Update! 🎉

Happy New Year, my friends! Wishing you all the best for 2025. I’m excited to share more projects with you this year and make them accessible to everyone.

On the ride home from yesterday’s New Year’s party, I decided to give the Bloatynosy Plugin Store a glow-up! The UI now sports a sleek Windows 11-inspired design. Check out the introduction clip featuring the Flyby11 Plugin, which lets you install Windows 11 on unsupported hardware (just select the ISO file in the final step)

New.Year.s.Build.Update.mp4

Heres what’s new in this release:

  • Modernized Plugin Store: Install, uninstall, and update your plugins through a revamped interface in true Windows 11 style
  • Plugin reviews and code execution now log real-time statuses (To Be Applied, In Progress, Completed)
  • German language file has been updated #260 Thanks to Mr-Update
  • A few minor tweaks to improve overall stability

To install a language file, simply download the language asset from here and move it to the directory where the .exe file is located. If you'd like to contribute translations, you can find the necessary resource files on GitHub: Bloatynosy Locales. You can also use Hakan's translation tool to assist with the process

I've included a dark-themed version in the assets, which goes by the build name Noir. This version is slightly more aggressive when it comes to debloating. Since I was too lazy to provide both app modes in one app and was just experimenting at first, the dark 'Noir' version is now available as an experimental feature. Perhaps we could run a survey to see if the optional dark mode should be set as the default for the app, or if we should stick with the light mode forever, after all, you don’t keep the app open all day. The opinions are divided on the app mode. Personally, I’m more of a fan of the light mode for apps, except for my development environment like VSCode and Studio, of course.

Massive Core Overhaul Launching the App to Version 1.0

After its inception as "Bloatynosy," this release propels the app to a true milestone: version 1.0! Fun fact: Bloatynosy originally launched as my first-ever release in mid-January 2023. Since then, the app has been downloaded over 7 million times (I stopped counting earlier this year).

Bloatynosy has been through a lot. It’s seen the highs and the lows. At its peak, it was even available in the Microsoft Store, before getting removed. The app has undergone two identity crises with name changes, somehow survived as a makeshift AI web app (Winpilot), was shut down, and then brought back to life again 💩 😑

Heres what’s new in this release:

  • Freshly revamped UI from the DEV Channel is now rolling out, offering even smoother integration with Windows 11
  • Dumputer > Debloating Module adopts the classic BloatyNosy design with the iconic dual-basket interface
  • New Notification Area seamlessly slides in and out of the UI, providing global logging capabilities
  • New final app icon featuring a "fat droplet" design is included in this DEV release
    explorer_xeg5vZpwTY
  • Update check functionality added (accessible from the Notification Area)
  • Fixed an issue where individual log instances were not being saved properly
  • Fixed a bug that could prevent certain plugins from being installed
  • Resolved a critical issue where the main app window might not display (though the process was running)
  • Fixed overlapping controls in the Dumputer area when using a 175% DPI scaling
  • Optimized memory usage, because every byte still counts, even today 😄
  • The app now boots 20% faster, enhancing overall performance
  • Improved support for gaming handhelds like the ROG Ally
  • Numerous smaller bug fixes to enhance stability and usability

Heres what’s new in this release:

  • Bye-Bye "Bloatynosy Nue": Internally, it’s still "Bloatynosy Nue," but the app proudly wears its original name, "Bloatynosy," again in the assembly
  • Brand-new app icon!
  • Modern Navigation: Redesigned tabs with a more dynamic and modern feel, expect a sleeker, more unified UI
  • Tabs now come with a "close/X" button for quick cleanup
  • Improved notifications area, now with a powerful search function
  • All-new settings interface for easier configuration
  • Upgraded Store: The store is now a primary tab, always accessible right from the main form
  • Improved handling of high DPI values and DPI scaling up to 175%
  • Updated the "Experience" section for smoother user interactions

So this isn’t just an update ...it’s a comeback story🚀

If you haven’t heard yet, BloatyNosy has been brought back to life, read on to learn more...

You probably remember my classic BloatynosyApp, which had to go through some renaming and eventually got discontinued. Everything that came after, like the web-based "Winpilot," didn't last long either. Honestly, I thought I was done with Bloatynosy-well, at least with the name. But then, during a recent visit to a well-known company, I saw an employee Googling the app and trying to download it, and I had to stifle a laugh. Apparently, the legend lives on. The employee and I had a good laugh about it, and he even called it the epitome of debloating.
Sometimes, I think a little too long about things, and then a useful project just pops out. Bloatynosy was one of those projects. Sure, the name wasn't for everyone, but it was the go-to tool for cleaning up and debloating Windows. Recently, I added an OOBE assistant called "Fresh11" to the FlybyScript—basically, an all-in-one solution and I figured, why not use the same foundation to bring Bloatynosy back to life?

I had a hard time committing to it, but in the end, I went for it. Now I can proudly say that after Bloatynosy, there won’t be anything newer or better. This time, it'll be even leaner, more efficient, smaller, and faster. A simple .exe that anyone can understand, doing exactly what bugs us after installing Windows 11. The reborn Bloatynosy carries the "Nue" extension (Bloatynosy Nue), not "New" ;) The last solid, classic version was 0.85, and that's where Im picking up (with a fresh new interface). The build carries a small 11.x version number.

  • The app experience has been further improved: each opened section is now displayed in a separate tab, allowing users to switch between sections/modules even when one section is in progress
  • The third-party plugin store has been further enhanced at its core (this section is not localized yet and is currently only available in the US version)
  • German translation has been improved
  • Italian translation has been added #250 Thanks to @bovirus
  • Korean translation has been added #253 Thanks to @VenusGirl

  • The design has been further simplified and modernized for a smoother user experience. Additionally, the file size and resource usage have been optimized, making Bloatynosy a true lightweight in every sense of the word
  • A new plugin store has been added, allowing you to download and install plugins regardless of your version. The store will also support third-party scripts in the future, but most available plugins are developed by me. For example, you’ll find Flyby11 scripts for upgrading to Windows 11, including in-place upgrades using server setups
  • The built-in app removal tool Dumputer now features two "baskets," allowing you to drag bloatware apps from one box to the second trash bin. This UI design is inspired by my old app Bloatbox - fun fact, the classic Bloatynosy version 0.85 had a similar concept
  • Managing plugins is easier than ever. A single click on "Visit Store" gives you access to the store and allows you to enable or explore new plugins effortlessly

  • The UI has been further simplified and modernized, while also drawing inspiration from the classic Bloatynosy app to maintain that same level of simplicity
  • Stable release on version 0.85 with migrated features and full support for Windows 11 24H2, especially 23H2, but also older feature versions - this was the version everyone agreed was the best of its time!
