Breaking Changes

We are removing packages previously published, out of an abundance of caution, to avoid any appearance of conflict with the restrictions of Hashicorp's BSL.

  1. If you are installing our package with a version pin that targets a BSL-licensed version of the software, that install command will break. Either roll back to the MPL licensed version of the software or get the BSL Licensed software from Hashicorp or another source.
  2. If you are installing our package without a version pin, be aware that future builds will revert to an older version than current builds are using.

what

  • Pin Hashicorp software distributions to last MPL-licensed version:
    • Consul v1.16.4
    • Packer v1.9.5
    • Terraform v1.5.7 (both the terraform-1 and terraform packages)
    • Vault v1.14.8

We also publish an obsolete Nomad package, but stopped updating it a version 0.12.5, approximately 3.5 years ago. No one should be using it, and it will be deleted.

why

  • Ensure we do not publish BSL licensed software
