mostly nits!!
- drop space before "promotion"
For clarity, this does not restrict individuals' personal attire
could be phrased better.To clarify, this policy does not restrict individuals from expressing personal views through their attire
perhaps?- Drop "Please see the Code of Conduct FAQ for more information." as the faq does NOT yet cover attire (and we don't need to add that to all the lines, there's is separate FAQ section on line 96)
- Is there a PR for adding attire to FAQ already?
thanks @jeremyrickard !

@dims I pushed a new commit that I think addresses comments 1-3.
I don't believe we have added a PR for the FAQ change. Let me verify if we have that ready to go and I'll handle it.

This Looks good, if we could adjust the personal attire language to be more clear as suggested by @dims ?
@mrbobbytables does this change require a formal vote by the TOC or is our approval on the PR sufficient as a major change?
Signed-off-by: Jeremy Rickard <[email protected]>
Approval of the PR from the TOC members should be sufficient - we just need a record of approval |

Nice idea. While we're at it, have we considered adding "political stance" to the list of dimensions of diversity? Looks like an important omission to me.

We have enough approvals from the TOC, this can now be merged. |
I guess that's a no... |
The CNCF Code of Conduct Committee is proposing a change to the Code of Conduct to prevent use of CNCF projects and CNCF community spaces for political campaigning or promotion of political causes that are unrelated to tech.
As a community that exists for the purpose of promoting cloud native technology, unrelated political causes are outside our scope. In the past, use of CNCF community spaces to promote unrelated political causes has proven to be distracting and divisive, even when numerous community members feel passionate about the cause. There are more appropriate forums outside of CNCF for promotion of political causes.
