Static maps is a recently added featureset, as with 0.5.4. It allows you to draw your own maps instead of relying on the level generation algorithm of the classic game mode. Basically, you get a palette of tools, not unlike the most basic painting tools from simple image editors:
With these, you can draw not only walls, floors, doors and the black void. These work mostly the way they look like. However, the last three buttons deserve special attention:
- The first (from left) allows you to enter a menu, where you can select items, broken items, character, mission objectives, keys and the player start point to place on the map.
- The second button sets the door color – and so the key required to open it.
- The third allows to draw the exit zone.
If required objectives or the exit zone are not placed, they get placed randomly.
It is also possible to use a guiding image, using a "tracing guide" image.
Simply enter the path to the image, which should appear instantly. Use "Guide Alpha" to adjust transparency of the image.
