Following the steps you end up with a hidden folder `.docker`, not a normal `docker` folder.

If you ended up with a hidden .docker directory, I guess you must have mistyped the path in an earlier step?
FWIW I don't think the globally installed CLI plugin in /usr/local/lib should be hidden.
