autoattend.xml

autoattend.xml is a configuration file used in Windows operating systems for automating the installation process, typically in the context of Windows deployment. It is part of the Windows Automated Installation Kit (AIK) or the Windows Assessment and Deployment Kit (ADK), and it allows administrators to create an unattended Windows installation. This means that the installation can proceed without manual input by predefining settings.

What is included in the preset?

  • Uses "English (World)" as language so less bloatware is installed
  • Bypasses Windows 11 requirements check (TPM, Secure Boot, etc.)
  • Allows Windows 11 to be installed without internet connection
  • Stops Windows from sending diagnostic data or your location history to Microsoft.
  • Applies Explorer tweaks such as showing hidden files and extensions, disabling widgets and hiding Edge - first-run experience.
  • Disables Bing results when searching in the Start Menu
  • Cleans the Start Menu from all pre-pinned tiles
  • Prevents Windows Update from rebooting your computer
  • Disables app suggestions / Content Delivery Manager
  • Removes Windows Copilot
  • Automatically enables Dark Mode
  • Prevents Bitlocker device encryption
  • Skips Edge First Run Experience
  • Makes Edge uninstallable
