semi-radical proposal: do NOT support bundles; do support bulk requests for a long list of ids; implement pagination on the return for the bulk request then do some object-semantics-specific way to get the list of object ids that you want to retrieve.
The proposal, as stated above, has been around for some time. Surfacing it as a PR for formal consideration.
This branch was created from the issue-334-drs-bulk-requests branch. It should preserve all existing bulk request functions:
Removed the Contents object.
Removed expand parameter
