Welcome to the overview page of the "Finance and Economics" track of the Generative AI Innovation Incubator hackathon series organized by the School of Computer Science at Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, PA, USA. The track is organized as a cascade of 3 interconnected events culminating in a 3-day online hackathon from August 4 to 6. More information about this track is included below. All times are Eastern Daylight (EDT).

Track overview The image above is a visual representation of the timeline for each hackathon event.

To participate, you need to…

  1. Register for this hackathon you'd like to participate in. During registration, you will be asked to submit an initial project idea that you would be interested in working on during the hackathon. All ideas will be made available for discussion in a dedicated Slack channel. You will receive an invite to that channel as part of an onboarding email after registering.
  2. Attend the ideation and mixer event. The event allows participants to present and discuss their ideas. It also provides the opportunity to form teams for the upcoming hackathon.
  3. Attend the team curation event. During this event, teams will pitch their ideas and plans for the hackathon. The best ideas will be invited to the hackathon to realize their vision. The decision criteria will be announced before the event.
  4. Work on your project during the hackathon.
  5. Present your project during the hackathon demo session. The best project will receive funding from the Block Center to continue working on it. To register for a hackathon and for an overview of the events schedules, please select the respective track below.

For any questions or more information please contact the event organizers via email or in Slack.

If you want to share your experience before, during, and after the hackathon, please use the hashtag #gai3.

This website will be updated as new information becomes available.
