How to contribute to the gallery

Holtz Yan edited this page Jul 2, 2021 · 3 revisions

Why

The R Graph Gallery is the home for charts made with R. If you're a creator of nice R charts, you should definitely share your work with the gallery. It would help the community and give great exposure to your project! (The gallery is visited thousands of times per month!)

How

  • fork the R graph gallery repository. This repo is very badly organized, but 🤷‍♀️. Basically, one .Rmd file is a blogpost. It is knitted into a .html file that is a post of the gallery 😄
  • copy paste the file called blog-post-template.rmd. Call it with a name that will become the url. Please start the name with web-. Try to be explicit! Something like web-line-chart-with-this-particular-feature.rmd
  • fill this .rmd file with your blogpost! A few tips are provided concerning header, title format, the general organization of the post I need and so on. That's your free space!
  • knit the blogpost and make a Pull Request!

Example

The R Graph Gallery already displays the work how many bloggers. Here are 2 examples:

  • Mario Kart analysis by Cédric Scherer. Link.
  • Radar chart by Tuo Wang. Link.

Thanks

Thank you so much for your contribution. I'll review it asap, and make sure to give as much credit as possible to your work!
