What issues are there with portability? I'd prefer to treat them as "immutable". They're exposing an API that programmers can use. Particularly, the "version" CSRs should never change, because they're what software can use to determine which platform they're running on. |

FYI - I kind of agree with @TomKeddie around the generated files. I think they should be kept together with the gateware. |

The checked in, generated files cause issues with portability. Can we remove these?
