My name is Kellen Murphy, I'm a member of the Identity and Access Management team for the University of Virginia's Information Technology Services division.
I have broad experience in the IAM space, though I specialize in building and supporting solutions built around SAML and OAuth 2.0 / OIDC, including components of the InCommon Trusted Access Platform (TAP). I'm the "Grouper Guy" at UVA, and as a former commercial support provider for Shibboleth, have substantial experience in the authentication and authorization space.
The complete list of "stuff I work with" is far too long to list here... but I speak Java, Python, and JS in addition to SAML 😉. I've helped to replace development environments in the IAM space at UVA with Vagrant-provisioned virtual machines that mimic our Docker environment. My days are split between dev/ops and containerization of our deployments and the real work of IAM: governance, administration, and policy.
We're building cool stuff at UVA and I look forward to assisting with the deployment of the latest identity solutions for all of my fellow Hoos!
