OS Specific Notes

The Media SDK support has a good number of quirks that might cause you to spend lots of time trying to debug mysterious conditions.

Windows

• QSV does not initialize if run from a remote console (e.g. ssh).
• Using it through rdp works slightly better.
• Wine doesn't seem to work even in fallback mode.

Linux

• You have to triplecheck the required dependencies (including kernel patches as today).
• There isn't a software fallback.
