Hosting and Joining
Hosting and joining is easiest through Discord.
Select the host button. Make sure Host through Discord appears in the bottom left.
Select the bottom-right host button.
Select a save file.
Invite your friend by right clicking their name on Discord and clicking Invite to Game.
You can invite channels of servers as well by clicking the + button next to the place you enter chat.
Game Activity must be enabled in your Discord user settings.
Appearing offline will prevent invites from being sent.
Launch the game and click the join button on the discord invite.
If the invite says that the game has ended, click the name of the person that sent the invite to refresh it.
For direct connections you will need to forward a port in your router or use Hamachi to connect to each other online.

The default port is 7777. The protocol to forward is UDP.
You can open two windows connect to yourself by using the IP address 127.0.0.1. But you can't control both windows at this time.
