Learn about vigilant mode. 
chore(dependencies): Clean up google dependencies (#290)

We no longer use googleHttp anywhere, so remove it. A few places
use the google api client, so add it so they can use the pinned
version here. Finally, the group 'google' is not used; no places
need access to both the compute and storage API. Remove it so that
callers pick which one they need.
