Hello,
I am Matteo from Italy and currently living and working in "sunny" Helsinki.
I am a backend engineer and I love databases, especially PostgreSQL.
Currently I am working on building, what I hope to be, the best PostgreSQL query plan visualizer on the web: www.pgex.matteogioioso.com, it is completely free, however for the time being it does not have any backend, but it stores data on the client; if I will get any funds I will invest them on paying the infrastructure to make the tool better.
I am also developing a self-hosted version, one free and the other, more advanced, probably available via license's purchasing or subscription.
Pgex (or at least the current name I gave to this tool) is the first of a series of PostgreSQL's applications I am planning to give birth.
My ultimate goal is to have a to a complete ecosystem of tooling which will include:
- HA operator for kubernetes and non-kubernetes environment
- Deployment engine to deploy on any platform
- SSO and RBAC
- More complete monitoring system (which will also include Pgex) that follows the community guidelines
- Backup management
- Alerting
- Multi-master PostgreSQL solution
This is all somewhat already developed github.com/borealisdb, however the amount of work required to maintain it and develop it further is quite substantial, and at the moment I cannot dedicate my full-time to it; the more funds I will receive the more time I can spend on this project and eventually leave my full-time job.
I hope I got you excited with my projects!
Cheers
