I'm not sure if it is enough, but you would have to make the same changes for macos, and I did use |

Looks like the changes needed to make this thing work on Linux are quite minimal, so I figured I can upstream them. Not very well tested, but I have run an ancient version with similar patches on Linux for months without issues.
I'm probably the only user of this, so I don't want to put too much maintenance burden on you. Feel free to reject it, but figured the changes are small enough to not cause issues, and should make it easier for me to update to newer versions.
