As the development progresses more things start looking like the official CCP implementation in terms of features.
Some work has been put into implementing some features of the EVE's official XML API from back in the day so tools like EVEmon can be compatible with little to no effort. The setup process is still rough and will vary greatly over time until some foundation is laid out for the setup.
The configuration file follows the same format as the orchestrator's, so a good starting point is there.
For the API to serve the images they need to be in the same folder as where the API project is running from. You can download the images package from here
